SELF WITH FLU PORTRAIT STUDIES. Conte, Nu pastel, acrylic on Japanese drawing paper. Not flattering, maybe, but they do capture the mood?

This dancer expresses a lot of desolation and despair in her gestures...barely recovering from the flu I can really relate..

The dancer uses a lot of eloquent hunching up of the shoulders and her hands to express dismay

The series actually began with the dancer rolling on the floor, through a lens clouded with raindrops...I left out the raindrops!

welcome

ruthdraws
Welcome to my portfolio. I really love drawing faces and figures, and have been doing so , on and off, for years. I go to a life drawing group, and enjoy so very much the wonderful flow and rhythm to it..first warming up the hand and eye with one minute poses, moving on through 5, then 10, 15 then 20 minute or longer poses. Here are some examples of each...on the better days!
